Are you lonesome tonight?

 Elders are “lonesome” every night…… and maybe during the day also.

Getting older is difficult for most people, but for older senior adults, it represents a gradual loss of independence and a diminishing quality of life.

Elder Friends is more than home care assistance, elder care management, assisted living services, or a homemaker companion service. Our Elder Friends can provide those services, but we also provide so much more. To our seniors, elderly, and aging adults, we provide friendship.

• When Seniors can no longer count on family and friends, they become more isolated and find it difficult to enjoy the activities that once gave them pleasure.

• Traveling alone to visit family becomes too difficult for the elderly, with too much planning and too many obstacles. Vacations are no longer realistic if there’s no one to share them with and mobility is limited.

• Everyday transportation becomes an insurmountable problem when you no longer drive. Going out at night just isn’t possible. Card players stop playing, and lunch out becomes a hassle.

• Friends, who were once available for sharing thoughts and interests may be overwhelmed by their own problems. Dining for one is problematic and ice cream becomes dinner.

• Days and nights are spent watching TV and outside contact is reduced to an occasional phone call.

•  Isolation and depression become a way of life.
